OpenServer 6 Technical Overview • OpenServer 6 Maintenance Strategy: • The Update Service has been withdrawn • Customers can purchase SES as an alternative • We no longer create Update Packs • Maintenance Packs now can include: • Escalations fixes, security fixes and other non-escalated issues • Updated packages and components • New features • Maintenance Packs are: • Cumulative, ie MP2 will include MP1 and more • Included in the next recut of the product Media Kit

OpenServer 6 Technical Overview • SCO OpenServer 6 Trade In Licenses: • Trade In Licences are for: • OpenServer Release 5.0.5 or earlier • Trade In User and Processor Licenses are also available • Change in OpenServer 6 License behaviour: • System will be shutdown after 60 minutes if: • the system has no valid license • the system has an expired license

SCO OpenServer 6 Installation • Initial System Load (ISL) Enhancements: • “No emulation” CD boot • Autoboot timer displayed at boot prompt • Support for install above 1024 cylinders/8GB • Autodetect of CPUs at boot time • Boot splash screen • Support for Installation Response Disk • Prompt for additional HBAs during ISL • HBA install from floppy and CD • Ability to run DCU once HBAs are loaded

SCO OpenServer 6 Installation • ISL Enhancements [2]: • Defer option <F8> to use Evaluation License • Enterprise Edition is used for Evaluation • Install Media options are • autodetected CD drives • TCP Network Server • Can set the time on the server at install time • ISL accepts multiple licenses for upgrades • Licenses must be entered “most recent first” • Note there is no option to perform an in-place upgrade
