  1. Reverence to God I. Reverence in the Old Testament. A. Children were to revere their parents (Leviticus 19:1-3). 1. “Revere” Heb. ar$y(( yare’ “to fear, revere, be afraid” (Gesenius).

  2. Reverence to God I. Reverence in the Old Testament. B. Israel was to revere the Lord's sanctuary (Leviticus 19:30). 1. The church is now the sanctuary of God (Ephesians 2:19-22).

  3. Reverence to God I. Reverence in the Old Testament. C. In the assembly He is to be feared and held in reverence (Psalm 89:5-7). 1. The assembly of the church is parallel to the assembly of Israel.
