  5. Indian Railroad: Some Hypothesis • The regions served by ECR, ER, NER, and SR must be the poorest • The regions served by ECOR, NCR, SECR, and SER must be the richest • As per the latest guideline of the Railroad committee most of the investment in all these 8 regions must be for Freight

Indian Railroad: Some Fact (Based on Planning Commission) • The regions served by ECR, ER, NER, and SR (not the poorest) • The regions served by ECOR, NCR, SECR, and SER is the poorest and the living standard is worse than Sub Sahara Region • While 99% of the investment in ECOR, NCR, SECR, and SER is to haul freight, the same is not true for ECR, ER, NER, and SR (less than 20%) • 70+% of the ministers for railroad post independence are from ECR, ER, NER, and SR areas • 100% of the ministers for railroad last 10 years are from ECR, ER, NER, and SR areas

Indian Railroad: Some Fact (Based on Planning Commission) • The state of Orissa is the poorest in the nation • The state of Orissa and Chhattisgarh have the least railroad infrastructure among all major states • The rate of investment by Railroad for social sector in these two states for the last 10 years is almost zero • The only ever railroad track laid in Orissa for partial social sector is Puri-Khurdha Road • While Orissa and Chhattisgarh are crying for funds, the profits generated in Orissa and Chhattisgarh is invested in Bihar and Bengal to restore previously scrapped rail tracks and in frivolous pursuits

Indian Railroad: What we want • Let there be investments in trillions in ECR, ER, NER, and SR • Let there be triple tracks with empty trains running in ECR, ER, NER, and SR • Let all the constitution be amended to guarantee all the ministers for Indian Railroad be from the states served by ECR, ER, NER, and SR • Let the Ministry of Finance dedicate all these projects in these states served by ECR, ER, NER, and SR as national importance and find money to finance these whimsical projects • Let there be money generated in states served by ECOR, NCR, SECR, and SER be dedicated to projects of Social importance • The tracks in Orissa under SER be moved under ECOR • A new company like KonkanRailraod be formed to invest the profits made by ECOR and SECR be invested in regions served by ECOR and SECR • We want the “SarvanginaUnnati” for this unfortunate region rather than piecemeal solution like new track age for Khurdha Road-Bolangir
