  1. BY FAITH SAMSON

  2. It is really difficult to understand why a person like Samson would be included in God’s Hall of Fame.

  3. His mother’s faith in God was pure. His faith was one of contradictions

  4. At times he asked God to work in his life and at times he lived a life of evil.

  5. He was religious and would not shave his hair, but at the same time his daily life was one of total ungodliness.

  6. He seemed to have no fear of God’s judgment but assumed that he could do whatever he wanted, and then call on God to get him out of the trouble.

  7. Judges 16:22- “But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.”

  8. Judges 16:28-30: “Then Samson prayed to the LORD, ‘O Sovereign LORD, remember me. O God, please strengthen me just once more. Let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.’

  9. Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, Samson said,

  10. ‘Let me die with the Philistines!’ Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. With this he killed many more when he died than while he lived.”

  11. With this he killed many more when he died than while he lived.”

  12. Lessons for us.

  13. We must not equate religion with spirituality.

  14. Satan’s desires to do to us what he did to Samson. Is your life one of contradictions?

  15. If we allow sin to stay in our life and participate in the sinful things of the world our lives will be destroyed too!

  16. Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

  17. If we are to work mighty works then God must be sovereign in OUR lives!

  18. Don’t delay making God Sovereign in YOUR life!

  19. You have to think, “What could God have done with Samson and his great giftedness if he had made God sovereign in his life sooner?”

  20. What about you?
