  2. Consultancy Study – Last Update (1) • Consultancy study on Potential Application of Renewable Energy in Hong Kong • Commissioned in late 2000 • Divided into 2 Stages • Stage 1 completed in early 2003 APEC 23rd EGNRET Meeting

  3. Consultancy Study – Last Update • Stage 2 is a BIPV demonstration project APEC 23rd EGNRET Meeting

  4. HKSARG – Current Update (1) • Evaluation of BIPV demonstration project completed and report will soon be issued. • EMSD has built a new 350 kW grid-connected BIPV in its new Headquarters Building. APEC 23rd EGNRET Meeting

  5. HKSARG – Current Update (2) • Launched a Wind Measurement Program in mid 2004 to monitor the wind resources at 5 potential sites APEC 23rd EGNRET Meeting

  6. HKSARG – Current Update (3) • The 2 Power Utilities in HK have agreed each to build a commercial-scale wind turbine for demonstration purpose • One already fixed the site, completed EIA and is tendering. Expected to start generation in 2006 APEC 23rd EGNRET Meeting

  7. HKSARG – Current Update (4) • The Sustainable Development Council of HKSARG recently issued an “Invitation and Response Document” to seek the general public’s view on three areas for SD, including use of RE. APEC 23rd EGNRET Meeting

  8. HKSARG – Current Update (5) • EMSD has set up a Working Group to formulate a set of technical guidelines on Grid Connection for small-scale RE power systems. APEC 23rd EGNRET Meeting
