Transmission and Distribution Subcommittee “D0” Responsible for treatment of all matters pertaining to the design, construction and operation of Transmission and Distribution Substations, and the application of switching devices and other equipment, instrumentation and protective and control equipment in Transmission and Distribution Substations. • Working group-D1: Lightning Protection of Substations. • Working Group D3: Substation Bus Design • Working Group D4: Substation Safety. • Working Group D5: Substation Insulation Coordination. • Working Group D6: Substation Grounding Measurements. • Working Group D7:Substation Grounding Design and Analysis. • Working Group D9: Permanent Connection in Substation.

West Coast Subcommittee “F0” Within the scope of the Main Committee, to foster closer cooperation among and permit more active participation of the Western members in all projects authorized by the Committee, and to provide direct contact in the planning of Pacific Coast technical activities. • WorkingGroup -F1: Seismic Design Criteria For Substation. • Working Group -F2: Cable Systems in Substations. • Working Group -F3: Substation Fire Protection Practices.

Substations Environmental Subcommittee “G0” Responsible for treatment of all matters relating to design and location of distribution and transmission substations as to their effect on the environment of the adjacent community. Special emphasis shall be made to the factors that must be considered in design such as aesthetic treatment, overall visual appearance, erosion control and oil spill containment. Audible noise, electromagnetic interference and electrical interference shall be considered as far as the zoning acceptance is concerned. • WORKING GROUP G1 - SLIDE LIBRARY • WORKING GROUP G2 - DESIGN & LOCATION OF SUBSTATIONS FOR COMMUNITY ACCEPTANCE. • WORKING GROUP G3 - SUBSTATION SECURITY

Treatment of all matters relating to design, construction, and operation of AC substations using HV power electronics as part of the electrical power system, including FACTS and HVDC converter stations. This includes the application of HV power semiconductor equipment and all other components insofar as they affect the design, construction, and operation of such substations. GAS INSULATED SUBSTATIONSSUBCOMMITTEE - K0 Review, study, and document design, application, installation, testing, operating and maintenance practices for gas insulated substations (GIS) of 72.5 kV and above, and identify the need for, and sponsor the preparation of, standards, guides, technical bulletins and other informative materials as related to the gas insulated substations and related technologies. Develop Guide for Application Medium Voltage Gas Insulated Substations 1kV up to 52 kV. Conduct GIS/GIL/SF6 tutorials, panel sessions. Develop GIL Application Guide.
