  3. Well Done! Is this how you worked it out? 12 x 49 = (12 x 50) – 12 12 x 49 = 600 – 12 12 x 49 = 588 Or did you use the grid method?

  4. Good try, but think about what multiple of ten is very close to 49. Could you use that to help you work out the calculation?
