Changes in Time to Contested Judgment 2009-2013 • Comparing the time to contested judgment in popular patent litigation districts for 2009 and 2013 one finds that many such districts decreased the time (in red on the map) • There are prominent exceptions: TXED, CASD, NYSD, NJD, FLSD (in blue on map) www.legalmetric.com 314-432-3001

Changes in Time to Contested Judgment 2009-2013 • Nationwide, the time to contested judgment decreased slightly from 2009 to 2013 (see prior chart) • The average time for one of the two largest patent litigation districts (DED) decreased from 31 months to 21 months • But the time for the other large patent litigation district (TXED) increased from 26 months to 35 months. www.legalmetric.com 314-432-3001

Changes in Time to Contested Judgment 2009-2013 • In 2013, the five slowest districts based on time to contested judgment (in districts with at least five such judgments) were NYSD (39 months), TXED (35 months), DCD (30 months), TXND (30 months) and ILND (28 months). • In 2009 only two of these districts were among the slowest five: ILND (41 months) and NYSD (36 months) www.legalmetric.com 314-432-3001
