  1. We Bought a Zoo Webquest

  2. Choose a name for your zoo. Design a poster to advertise your zoo. Draw a map of your zoo. Pick an animal and right a plan for the care of that animal.

  3. Process • Chose a name for your zoo. • You need to choose a name for your zoo. Please be creative. Your name plus the word zoo is not a good option!!!

  4. Process • Design a poster for your zoo. • It must include: • The name of your zoo. • The poster should have information that makes people want to come to your zoo. • You must include general rules for visitors of your zoo.

  5. Process • Create a map of your zoo • Really think about how you would like to organize your zoo. Should animals be all over the place or should you place animals together in the same area…mammals, birds, reptiles, etc… • Your map should include: • Location of guest services like restrooms, lost and found, first aid • Location of food, refreshments, and gift shop • Location of the different types of animals. • Here is an example of Brandywine Zoo’s map: http://www.brandywinezoo.org/zoo-map.html

  6. Process • Compose a daily care plan for an animal in your zoo. • This is not a book report on an animal. I want to know how to care for the animal. For example: what temperature does it need, what does it eat, how much does it eat. This should be completed on the page of written instructions on how to care for the animal. Are there certain ways to approach it? Does it live well alone or with another one of its species. Who do I call if I had a problem? You need to choose an animal from the Brandywine Zoo website. http://www.brandywinezoo.org/animals.html • Then find out the care information on the internet and complete the daily care plan.
