  2. How do you dispose of your unwanted medication? Most common disposal practices: Flushing down the toilet Throwing in the garbage Flushing pharmaceutical drugs sends them into our water systems. Drugs thrown in the garbage are available for others to take and use, and can also get into the environment.

  3. What is a Prescription Drug Take Back Program? Provides a place for the public to dispose of unwanted “drugs”. • Hassel free • Gather unwanted or unused prescriptions and drop off at collection site • Confidential • No signatures required and no questions asked We all have unused or unwanted prescription medications. Lets all do our part in properly disposing of these drugs. Proper disposal of these medications will prevent possible misuse and will also keep them from harming the environment in which we live.

  4. How does it work? Drugs are then collected from the drop box by the Truesdale Police Department . Next the drugs are boxed up and weighed to prepare for pick up by the DEA.

  6. Drug Take Back Events Drug take back events are held twice a year April and October A police officer is required to be present at the event Only police officers are authorized to collect unwanted/unused medicine from the drop box
