  2. State Prohibited Occupations The following is from the NYS website Labor department. • Certain areas of employment are prohibited. • If you are, or plan to be employed, by any of the following occupations, Think again, it is against the law. • Working for your parents? Same rules apply.

  3. State prohibited occupations • No one under the age of 18 may be employed in or assist in: • Construction work • Which includes: • Wrecking • Demolition • Roofing • Excavating • Painting or exterior cleaning from an elevated surface

  4. State prohibited occupations18 and under • Also includes: • Circular saws • Band saws • Guillotine shears • Slaughter and meat packing establishment

  5. Hazardous occupations. • Manufacturing and storing explosives Prohibited • Exposure to radioactive substances. This may look like garbage However, it is radioactive

  6. Hazardous occupations. • Driving a motor vehicle, and being an outside helper on a motor vehicle. Still to young to be driving. Are we breaking the law?

  7. Hazardous occupations. • Power driven wood working Machines. • Logging and sawmilling.

  8. Hazardous occupations. • Coal Mining • Mining Against the law Hazardous Violation of labor laws

  9. Hazardous occupations. • Power Driven hoisting apparatus. Looks like fun, But Against the law!!

  10. Hazardous occupations. • Power driven Bakery Machines. Great to eat, But You cannot make it, if you are under 18.

  11. Hazardous occupations. • Power driven paper product machines. Which one is illegal to use?

  12. Hazardous occupations • You need to be aware. • If it is not legal, don’t do it. • Check before saying yes to any job. • It is about your Safety.
