  2. Body Parts Body parts help animals adapt in many ways. Whiskers - Did you know that the North American river otter has whiskers that help the river otter feel it’s way through tight spots? Webbed feet – A duck can use it’s webbed feet to swim faster so it can catch it’s pray.

  3. Body Coverings Body coverings help protect the animal in different environments. Brightly colored feathers- The brightly colored feathers help the peacock attract it’s mates. Striped fur- Striped fur helps skunks serve as a warning to predators.

  4. Behavior Animals adapt to their environment by their behavior. The giraffe has a long neck so he can reach up high for leaves. Baby birds squeal when they need food and they nest is high up in the trees.
