Colossians Jesus is Supreme • Supreme in Spirit – Colossians 1:15a • Supreme in Position – Colossians 1:15b • Supreme in Authority – Colossians 1:16a • Supreme in Reason – Colossians 1:16b • Supreme in Power – Colossians 1:17 • Supreme as Head – Colossians 1:18a • Supreme as Leader – Colossians 1:18b

  3. Jesus, the Supreme Lord Sacrificed Himself on the Cross for mankind Colossians 1:19-20 (NAS) “19For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,  20and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.”

  4. Paul’s Exhortation 1. Remember the way you were saved – Colossians 1:21-22 (NAS) “ 21And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,  22yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- ”

  5. Paul’s Exhortation 2. Remember to remain faithful - Colossians 1:23a (NAS) “ 23if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, ”

  6. Colossians 2:11-12 (NAS) “11and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;  12having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.”

  7. Acts 2:37-38(NAS) “ 37Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?"  38Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

  8. Paul’s Exhortation 3. Remember the true gospel – Colossians 1:23b (NAS) “ and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.”

  9. Paul’s message to us • Hold on to Christ Himself. • Hold on to the cross of Christ. • Hold on to the Gospel of Christ. • Hold on to each other in Christ.
