  4. E-Governance Electronics Act of governing E-Governance :Controlling with authority through electronic means In mid of 80s, Developed countries like US have gone for complete computerization

E-Governance • Adoptation of electronic means in providing services to public by a government. • Deliver services and information to public through electronic media by the use of IT. • To reinvent government by identifying breakthrough strategies that rethink the core functions of key government services, archive integrated services deliver, reduce costs and redefine administrative process.

Advantages • Reduces corruption in administration. • Provides paperless offices. • Maintains consistency and integrating in decision making. • Plays vital role in policy making. • Enables government to work better, yield higher revenue growth with less costs. • Provides an environment with which public can freely interact with various government departments anytime, anywhere with minimum effort. • Offers high speed in administration. • Provides efficient and effective documentation of each step in administration / government services. • Achieves transparency in administration. • Creates a strong bridge between public and government there by reducing the existing gap between them. • Provides the people a friendly environment for interaction. • Ensures accountability in administration.
