  4. Peter’s confession • Matt 16:17 – Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”

  5. The Three Offices of Christ Jesus • Prophet/apostle – The one who brings God’s word to his people. • We can know God and have a purpose in life.

  6. The Three Offices of Christ Jesus • High Priest – Jesus is our advocate/mediator before God. • We can come to God without fear of rejection knowing that Christ is our mediator.

  7. The Three Offices of Christ Jesus • King - ruler not just over the earth but of the whole universe and forever. • We can have confidence in the ultimate establishment of His full and perfect reign over all powers and authorities and this gives us hope in the face of adversity.

  8. The love of Christ for us • Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah and yet Jesus is also the Lamb of God.
