  1. How to Access Your Niswonger Online Classes

  2. Beginning the Login Process… • We are excited that you are taking an online course(s)! In this presentation, you will learn the login process for your Niswonger Learning Center account. • In order to begin the login process, you will need to visit: • www.nflconline.com • Once on the site, you will click on the box that says “Student Login.”

Your Login Information… • Once you have clicked on “student login,” a new page will open where you can enter your username and password. • Your username is a combination of your first and last name. • Example: Jane Smith • Username: janesmith • Every student’s password is preset to: • P@55word • When you enter your password, it must be entered exactly how it is listed above!!! • You will have the option to change your password once you have logged in.

  5. This is what the screen will look like once you click on “student login.” You will enter your username and password as noted on the previous slide.

  6. FYI… • Sometimes when you first try to log-in, your computer will tell you that you need to enable cookies. • If you are using Mozilla Firefox as your browser, visit: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disablecookies-website-preferences • If you are using Internet Explorer, visit: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/How-to-managecookies-in-Internet-Explorer-9

  7. Once you have Logged In… • You MUST change your password the first time you login by clicking on “My Info”

  8. Type in your current password which is P@55word unless you changed it at another time. • Type in the new password which must include at least one upper case letter, one number, and one symbol that is at least 8 letters and characters long. • For example, Moodle1% • In the last box retype the new password again. • Don’t forget to save!

  9. How to access your class(es)… • After you have changed your password the first time you login to the site, then you are ready to go to access your class. • You will need to click on the tab to the far right that says, “Moodle.”

  11. Moodle… • After you click on the “Moodle” tab, a page will show that gives you a button to “Go to Moodle.” • You will need to click on this button to get to where your online classes are listed.

  12. Click on this button to access where your classes are located.

Where to Access Your Courses... • After you click on “Go to Moodle,” a new window will open that says, “Niswonger Tennessee College and Career Ready Consortium.” • On the right side of the page, you should see a section that says, “My Courses.” • Under that heading, you should see the classes you signed up to take.

  15. Your Courses… • Click on the course name to access your class. • This will open the course for you to view. • Once on this page, an introduction to the course will be listed by the instructor. • The following slide also points out where you can view you course assignment grades.

Who to Contact with Issues… • If you have questions/issues with logging into your course, you should contact the NETCO i3 counselor assigned to your school. • The contact information for these counselors will be listed at the end of this presentation. • If you have questions directly related to the course, including: course material, assignments, issues with assignment submission, etc. you will need to contact your course instructor! • You may contact the course instructor directly through Moodle.

  18. On the left side of your course screen, you should see this section. In order to access the option to send your instructor a message, you will need to click on “Participants,” and then click on the instructor’s name in the list.

  19. Once you click on your instructor’s name, this page will appear. In order to send a message, you will need to click on the “send message” button. A separate window will open where you can type and send your message.

  20. Trouble Ticket • An additional way to receive assistance with issues is by submitting a trouble ticket. • In order to submit a trouble ticket, visit www.nflconline.com and click on the button on the right side of the screen that says, “Trouble Ticket.”

We are here to help you! • In order to be successful, keep in mind: • You need to stay on top of your assignments! Regularly login and work on your course! • It is up to YOU to get the work done! Treat these classes just as you would a class at school; they are rigorous and require dedication!! • An online course is an exciting way to learn and offers you a great deal of flexibility by working at home and at your own pace; however, we must stress that the course you are taking may be required for graduation. Final grades are sent to your school, placed on your transcript, and averaged into your GPA.
