  1. How Do You Save Your PubMed Search Results into an EndNote Library ? Sample search for articles on Cyclin D and published in the journal “Cell”. This search yields 29 citations

  2. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 1. Click on the ”Send to” pull down.

  3. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 2. Choose “File” as your destination.

  4. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 3. Select “Medline” as your Format.

  5. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 4. Hit the “Create File” button. This should download a file to your computer. On my machine it is automatically named “pubmed_result.txt”

  6. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 5. You should have a text file on your local computer that looks like this

  7. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 6. Open an Endnote library (or make a new one) and select "Import" from the File menu

  8. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 7. Under Import Options, select PubMed. If PubMed is not a choice, select "Import Filters". This will open a window of you filter options. Select PubMed (NLM).

  10. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 9. Select "Discard Duplicates" (This is important if you are importing into an existing library).

  11. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 10. Choose file (The text file you made in #2) and hit “Import”

  12. Save Your PubMed Search Results into EndNote 11. Import! Your library should now have all your results, including journal reference and abstracts
