  7. The Interview • In the interview, we would like to know your thoughts on • Critical global issues that require our priority attention • What to do to strengthen the UN • Portugal’s most pressing agenda • In addition, we wish to get to know you.

  8. The Interview • Important Dates • Interview Order Announcement: Monday, November 11, 2013 • Interview: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 • Result Announcement: Wednesday, November 13, 2013

  9. What happens at this stage? • In the interview, you present yourself to the Selection Committee. Your goal is to convince the Selection Committee that you are a strong candidate and prove that you will not easily quit the remaining selection procedures and training sessions. • When & where • Date: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 • Sign-in Time: 9:00 • Interview Time: 10:00 – 12:00 • Venue: Room 401, General Education Building (共同科館 401 教室)

  10. Format • A maximum of six and minimum of three applicants will be interviewed together in one interview session. Each interview session is divided into four stages: • Introduction (2.5 minute): Each applicant has 30 seconds to talk about himself/herself. • Ordered Q&A (5 minutes): In order, each applicant has 30 seconds to answer a question from the Selection Committee. It goes for two rounds, and applicants answer one question in each round. • Free Q&A (3 minutes): The Selection Committee throws out open and free-for-all questions. Applicants are encouraged to be the first to answer the questions and to join and express his/her opinions even after a student has started talking. • General Discussion (2 minutes): The Selection Committee decides how to use this time based on the interview situation.
