  2. PRTM Philosophy: The field of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management provides opportunities for people to pursue recreation and leisure activities. These activities contribute to a healthy lifestyle by increasing physical fitness, family unity, relieving stress, and providing open space for the surrounding community to utilize. Open spaces can be used for a variety of activities to balance work and play including exercise, games, special events, and other community functions. The leisure service field enriches the land with sustainable environmental practices, while providing clean and water. This field can increase surrounding property values by acting as a economic stimulator and a catalyst for relocated.

  3. Program Management Philosophy: The concentration of Program Management offers structured opportunities to people of various backgrounds to pursue common interests in a fun and positive setting. This interaction can help break down social barriers and stereotypes between these groups, therefore increasing community unity. Various programs offered provide options for fun activities that people may not be able to create on their own, such as fall festivals and youth sport camps. Program Management provides programs that can help youth development by instilling life values such as honesty, integrity, perseverance, confidence, respect, and judgment that will help kids contribute positively to their community as they mature. Leisure service programs can be a source of pride for the community by providing outstanding products, such as great athletic programs.
