  1. March Monthly Reflection 8th Grade Project: Learning the Flute

  2. Mentor Collaboration • Like last month, I was only able to meet with my mentor one time. • During our meeting, we chose a song for me to play for the final part of this project. • The song we chose is in the book I was working out of, and it is called Serenade. • I also was told that I was improving on my higher range and tone. • I wasn’t assigned any new pages because I needed to spend most of my time practicing the final song I will play.

  3. What I Learned • This month, I learned how to play 16th notes, which are played very fast. • I also learned how to move my mouth to make my tone more even and clear. • In my method books, I learned two pages and one duet. • In addition to these things, I also began to learn part of the song that I am playing at the end of this project. • Since I am trying to learn all of the Major scales, I learned the A Major, G# Major, and Eb Major scales.

  4. The song I am playing for my final project.

  5. Next Month • Next month, I plan to learn the remaining four major scales. • I also want to continue to improve my range and tone on the flute. • Although I have other things I want to work on, my main focus next month will be on my final song. • Because I only meant with my mentor once this month, I want to meet with him more that once. • My main goal next month, is to learn and record my final song, I want that to be my main focus for next month.
