A WebQuest in Born • 1995 Bernie Dodge coined the term “WebQuest” • Students use web based resources and tools to gather information. • A WebQuest is an inquiry based activity where students are given a task and provided with access to online resources to help them complete the task. • Ideal way to deliver a lesson over the web.

  3. Attributes of a GOOD WebQuest • An Introduction that sets the stage of the actiivty • A doable interesting task • A set of information resources • A clear process • Guidance and organizational thoughts • A conclusion that provides reflection and closure • Meets technology and state standards

  7. Introduction • The introduction is a means of providing the students with background information that is intended to be a springboard for them to begin the process of inquiry. • This is your opportunity to “hook” your learners.

  8. Task • The description of the end result of students’ work. The performance or product that drives the activities of the lesson.

  9. Process • Where the teacher leads the student through the task. Step by step instructions on how the learner will accomplish the task.

  10. Resources • All sites students will use to perform the task.

  12. Conclusion & Credits • A final statement that may include reflections on the lesson. • Any sources used in the creation of the WebQuest should be listed in the credits section/page.
