  2. World´s water deficit is one of most serious problems that UN is trying to solve. About 1/3 of the world´s population lives in countries, which suffer from lack of drinking water, meaning the water usage is higher than 10% of renewable water supplies. (CSD, 1997a) Estimation is, that in 25 years, 2/3 of the world´s population will live in countries with lack of drinking water. (CSD, 1997a) It´s estimated, that until year 2020 the drinking water usage will rise up to 40%. For food production will be used about 17% more water to satisfy the need of growing population.
