Volunteering • Brunswick County public health fair Sept.19th & 20th (in Brunswick County) • volunteers with CNA or EMT certifications needed, but everyone is welcome • It’s casual, come and go as you please • Sign up tonight • Walk to Cure Diabetes-Oct. 24th at Mayfaire (more info to come) • Decorating Children’s playroom at NHRMC • Decorating in November • Accepted décor: anything laminated, plastic, inflatable due to fire hazards • Usually lasts 30-45 minutes

MCAT • The Medical College Admission Test is a standardized, computerized multiple-choice exam designed to help medical schools assess your: • Mastery of basic concepts in biology, chemistry, and physics • Facility with problem solving and critical thinking • Communication and writing skills • It is administered 22 times a year spread across the months of January, April-September • http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/

  8. MCAT • The test is divided into four sections: • Physical sciences (70 min,52 questions) • Physics, general chemistry • Verbal reasoning (60 min, 40 questions) • Critical reading • Writing sample (30 min per essay) • Biological sciences (70 min, 52 questions) • Biology, organic chemistry

DAT • Survey of Natural Sciences (90 min,100 questions) • Biology, Organic/Inorganic chemistry • Perceptual Ability Test (PAT) (60 min, 90 questions) • Visualizing in 3D • Reading Comprehension Test (60 min, 50 questions) • Ability to absorb information, main idea • Quantitative Reasoning Test (45 min, 40 questions) • Algebra, word problems, geometry, trig.

OAT • The Optometry Admission Test is a standardized, exam designed to measure general academic ability and comprehension of scientific information • The OAT consists of four tests: • Survey of the Natural Sciences (Biology, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry) • Reading Comprehension • Physics • Quantitative Reasoning http://www.opted.org

  12. OAT • The exam is computerized and examinees are allowed to take the OAT an unlimited number of times but must wait at least 90 days between testing dates  • Only the scores from the four most recent attempts and the total number of attempts will be reported
