  2. The King • Zeus, the Greek king • The king of the gods, the god of sky and weather, law, order and fate • He was depicted as a regal man • There were many Roman kings • One known as Romulus, the king of wars

The Queen • The beautiful goddess Hera was queen of the Greek gods and the wife of Zeus, the king. • Hera is described as jealous and quarrelsome. • Cleopatra Theawas known as “ the other Cleopatra” making her one of the ancient Roman queens. • Cleopatra Thea ruled for her husband Demetrius while he was fighting against Parthia.

  4. The Nymph • In Greek mythology, nymphs are spirits of nature • Protectors of springs, mountains, and rivers. • Represented as young, pretty girls. : Dryads (forests), Naiads (springs and rivers), Nereid (the Mediterranean), Oceanids (the sea) and Oreads (mountains), Limoniads (meadows), Limniads (lakes, marshes and swamps) and Napaea (valleys).
