Overview of tests and test campaigns:CQM-ILT, CQM-IMT , FM 1, and FM 2

Introduction

Introduction

  • DM-ILT program finished (band 1, 5, partial warm units)

  • Validation of test equipment & EGSE “finished”

  • Testing as much as possible via CUS scripts, configuration files, MIB

  • Analysis of results partly via database/IA


Cqm eqm ilt

CQM (EQM)-ILT

  • Early October 2004 – 12 December 2004

  • Configuration:

    • FP Band 3 (H/V)

    • WBS one polarization

    • HRS one polarization

    • ICU no redundancy (AVM)

    • OBS … - 2.22

    • LO (band 3A/B, few frequencies); LSU simulator

  • Goal: Preparation for IMT (no external stimulator)

  • Tests: Functional test (no tuning); stability (; standing waves)

  • Conclusions on ripples, diplexer behavior (together with 2 side bands and standing waves), calibration source, noise temperature, LO reproducibility, chopper & OBS (non-)behavior

  • Start of understanding HIFI


Cqm imt

CQM-IMT

  • At ‘satellite’ level

    • In old ISO cryostat, with PACS and SPIRE

    • Control via CCS, Herschel PDU simulator

    • With LSU simulator

    • ICU CFM 2 for EMC test

  • October (IMT), November/December 2005(EMC, thermal behavior)

  • Results: see presentation of Nick Whyborn

  • Also results regarding integration procedures, use of IEGSE, etc

FM 1

  • FM1 refers to FPU tests with MSA’s 1, 2, 3, 5

  • November/December 2005

  • To test FPU performance (presentation of P. Dieleman)

  • To measure the beams (presentation of M. Jochemsen)

  • Feedback (new grids in band 1, polarization correction in band 5, chopper magnets): implemented

  • In this period also the start of the WBS integration with ICU/EGSE/HCSS

    • inrush current reduction, OBSW debugging, new HCSS release, new OBSW version, temperature stability of environment, … : not yet finished completely

  • After FM1: completion of the FPU and modifications

FM 2

  • Now going on

  • FPU performance of all bands and beam measurements

    • Check improvements

  • Continuation of WBS integration

    • ICU (AVM2, OBS 3.5), GSE and tested with scripts: KOSMA performance not fully reproduced

  • Start of ICU - HRS integration

    • HRS integrated with ICU, WBS (AVM2, OBS 3.5), GSE and tested with scripts: CESR performance reproduced (TBC)

  • Test equipment is being upgraded (// set up, re-imager controlled by scripts, etc.)

  • Next: Integration with ICU ..; preparation for cold vibration
