Squamish Terminals - About Us • Squamish Terminals is a deep-water, break-bulk terminal located on a 24 hectare (60 acre) site at the north end of Howe Sound – just 32 nautical miles north of the Port of Vancouver (48 kilometers or 30 miles via Highway 99). • With an intermodal transportation infrastructure (including access to rail, ocean and truck), 2 berths, 3 warehouses, specialized handling equipment and an experienced team, Squamish Terminals efficiently handles cargo bound for North America and around the world. • At Squamish Terminals we value and support our people, our environment and our community.

  5. Squamish Terminals - Connections • Squamish Terminals is owned by Grieg Star Shipping AS (based in Bergen, Norway). • Squamish Terminals is a public terminal; open to all major break-bulk shipping lines providing our customers with access to markets worldwide.

  6. Squamish Terminals - Connections • Squamish Terminals is serviced by CN Rail connecting to markets in British Columbia and Alberta, across Canada and into the United States. Shippers have access to all other major transcontinental railways. • Squamish Terminals has developed a working relationship with Gateway Rail and TMS trucking services to facilitate effective movement of break-bulk shipments from vessels to lay down yards. This connection enables specialization in the trucking of cargo to the lower mainland and the handling of import steel products destined for North American locations via truck or rail.

Squamish Terminals - Cargo Services • The type of cargo Squamish Terminals handles includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: • Forest Products (e.g. wood pulp, panel, lumber) • Steel Products (e.g. pipe, rebar, coil, h-beam, plate) • Special Project Cargo (e.g. yachts, trailers, windmill parts, turbines) • Stevedoring Services available by arrangement.

Squamish Terminals - Warehouses Shed 1 Built in 1972 14,500 sq. meters Shed 2 Built in 1981 13,370 sq. meters Shed 3 Built in 1991 19,510 sq. meters All three warehouses are well lit, equipped with fire protection, polished concrete floors for optimum cargo cleanliness and provides direct rail access. Outside storage is also available.

Squamish Terminals - Equipment “Boxcar Special" lift trucksfor unloading railcars equipped with forks, paddles or roll clamps as the commodity requires. 15,000 lb to 45,000 lb capacity HYSTER lift trucks for transfer of cargo into storage areas and from storage to alongside vessel or onto trailers equipped with attachments to handle all forest and steel products.

  11. Squamish Terminals - Cargo Delivery Fast turn around of trucks and barges Monday thru Friday operation Evenings and weekends by arrangement Yard Tractor Fleet Sisu tractor units, in tandem with double-wide Magnum trailers and single-wide trailers as appropriate to the cargo.
