Formatting a Lab Report • Title: The word “title” is written and underlined; followed then by the name of the lab. • Purpose: The word “purpose” is written and underlined; followed by the purpose of the lab. • Procedure: Usually extremely detailed. You can summarize. Just a couple of sentences is fine. Procedure questions will be on quizzes. • Data: The word “data” is written and underlined. For this section you will either be filling out charts or questions will be asked to help you gather data. Write out the question, underline it, leave a space, then answer the question.

  2. Formatting a Lab Report • Conclusion: The word “conclusion” is written and underlined. For this section you will be asked questions. Write out the question, underline it, leave a space, then answer the question. • Application: Where is this used in the real world or in the scientific community? How does this affect your life or why is this important to have this knowledge for society or other real world application or future predicted use? • Must have one source to accompany this section. If you use a website please make sure you do not have a typo in the address.
