  1. A SPACE FOR LEARNING learning spaces idir architecture & http://aspaceforlearning.wordpress.com/

  2. According to the World Bank, educating all children worldwide will require the construction of 10 million new classrooms in more than 100 countries by 2015. At the same time, millions of existing classrooms are in serious need of repair and refurbishment. http://www.openarchitecturenetwork.org/competitions/challenge/2009

  3. Computers are revolutionizing the way we teach and learn. Will they also change the way we design our schools? The scene is familiar: A teacher stands at the front of a room. Children sit in the centre, their seats arranged in rows or semicircles. There is a chalkboard, a wall map, and a globe. This could be a classroom in 1995... or 1895, or even 1795. Although the details may vary, school design has seen few changes in the past two hundred years............

  4. ‘Learning is a process of active engagement with experience. It is what people do when they want to make sense of the world. It may involve the development or deepening of skills, knowledge, understanding, awareness, values, ideas and feelings, or an increase in the capacity to reflect. Effective learning leads to change, development and the desire to learn more.’ MLA definition as quoted in ‘Inspiring Learning for All’. www.artscouncil-ni.org/space-for-learning

  5. Only that which does not teach, which does not cry out, which does not condescend, which does not explain, is irresistible. William Butler Yeats | Morality and Ethics
