  3. How long has it been going on? • iPods - 3 years • iPads – 3 years • What are the desired instructional outcomes? • Anytime Access • Increasing Student Engagement • Keep the University system on it’s toes • 21st Century skills and Literacy

  4. Where are we now? • Alki - 250 ipads in 6th grade + 6-8th grade teachers

  5. What are we using? Cart based model managed through a dedicated MacBook and iTunes Most Flexibility Sync non iTunes purchased music and playlists High degree of technical training to manage App purchasing confusion Lots of Manual labor to set them up each year

  6. What are we using? Configurator without Supervision Updates multiple iOS devices at one time “Nuke and Pave” Still can connect to iTunes accounts Can be used to deploy apps via VPP Additional Training for end user Management Certain settings/features reserved “Supervision” only

Configurator with Supervision Updates multiple iOS devices at one time “Nuke and Pave” Can not connect to iTunes accounts Auto-conform Can be used to deploy apps via VPP Additional Training for end user Management Students have to plug in to get update Sync non iTunes purchased music and playlists

Fall 2013 2 middle schools 1:1 plus all middle school teachers Fall 2014 2 more middle schools 1:1 plus all High School Teachers Fall 2015 all high school students plus 5th grade teachers Fall 2016 all 5th grade plus 3rd and 4th grade teachers Fall 2017 all 3rd and 4th grade students plus refreshing 17,000 iOS devices
