  1. The 12 Bar Blues By Lauryn Tomlin 8y1

  2. Arpeggio chords There are three primary chord C,F and G. Broken chord are when the notes are played one after another. Block chords mean that al the chords are all played at the same time. The fourth note brings a different fusion to the chord.

  3. Melody line The melody line and the arpeggio chord get together to make the 12 Bar Blues. And you have to get the timing right to make it sound good.

  4. SCALE • The Blues are a simple music and I’m a simple man. But the Blues aren’t a science, the Blues can’t be broken down like mathematics. The Blues are a mystery, and mysteries are never as simple as they look!” • BB King, interview by David Ritz [1] • He was a great guitar player he used the scale in his music alot All or some of these notes can be played for the musical technique 'IMPROVISATION’. This is played within the time slot of the ‘1-8’. G# F# Keyboard A# B A C G D E F D#

  5. Slaves information The people that were taken to become slaves and involved in the slave trade was taken away from their family. They werechained up together and squashed into compacted spaces to get more people on the boat. Also for being like this for nearly 6 weeks made there life horrible and cruel to them as human beings. Music was an important instrument in there life. For Africans they use the drums and there palms of there hands and there fingers. A off beat rhythm is the jangling. Life outside of being a slave Freedom was worse for salves the escaped because when they were in slavery they got some food and water and some where to stay but when they were realised there were homeless and couldn't find anywhere to stay and was deprived of any kind of privileges. The slaves where realised in 1865 and this is where is all began. Punishments Some of the punishments in the slavery trade was what I think out of order because they forced the slaves to dance to make sure that there muscles are working. Another punishment that they used were the whips and sometimes when they wiped them they put them into a Tabaco smoke room. Also they sometimes got pushed them down the hill.

  6. The 12 bar blues The blues song express the unhappy thing in the slaves lives. The chord is 2 or more played at the same time. The 12 bar blues are a form of the blues and it is called that because it is the length of 12 bars. when the slaves where working they used improvisation (which means you play as you go along) because they had no time to practice and that was a important thing in there life. Some really famous people that was on guitar where Robert Johnson which was a singer as well. Also Bessie smith with her version of the ‘STLouis blues’ was in a powerful emotionally. Some one else is muddy waters which achieved early success with the hit ”I cant be satisfied”. John lee hooker reached the charts with his hollering sound “boom boom”. One more person that was involved was Eric Clapton is the greatest guitarist in Britain. This video is muddy waters playing “Icant be satisfied” htpp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPfJoBwWRQ8
