  1. Welcome to BCIS 2610.001My voice is poor today, so I’m going to use SLIDES! (A copy of this presentation is at the BCIS2610 folder on the CoB S drive)

  2. I will now review what is in the syllabus about the end of this course.

  3. We Will Grade & Report ASAP • Curve? Yes, if needed • PDF report tomorrow, maybe Thursday • Both PPT homework and Exam #3 grades • Look for message from me in your EagleConnect account

  4. Then What? • Compare your total points earned against scale shown at top of PDF or in syllabus. • If you are satisfied with your grade, YOU ARE DONE WITH THIS COURSE. Congrats! • If you are not satisfied, you should take the optional final exam (May 6, here, @1:30 pm). • If you missed a midterm, you MUST take the final exam (you need 3 exam grades).

  5. But is it Worth My Time & Effort?Compare your total points to your grade group • If you are in the upper third of your grade group – good odds; take the final. • If you are in the middle third of your grade group – toss-up; take or don’t take the final. • If you are in the lower third of your grade group – poor odds given past performance; the decision is up to you. • We use only your 3 best exam scores; you can’t lose by taking the optional final.

  6. What About the Review Materials? • What is now posted in the BCIS 2610 folder on the CoB S drive isit. • Lawyers from the textbook publisher will NOT allow anything more at this time. • Although we are working with them, the problem will NOT go away for the rest of this semester.

  7. So we are back to offering the study resources available to all 2610 students before the Fall, 2013 semester. And that is still a lot of good stuff.

  8. Will You Curve … • The optional final exam? Yes, if needed. • The course grades? Yes, if needed (but usually is not, since I have curved the separate tests already).

  9. What About Next Week? • I will review the structure of the optional final exam. • I will answer questions about that exam. • I will present a short lecture about Microsoft One-Note, a FREE tool for storing and organizing knowledge. One-Note questions will NOT be on the final.

  10. Please email me if you have any questions.

  11. OK, Now What? • Put away your books, notes, mobiles, etc. • Do not wear any earphones. • If you wear a ball cap, swing the visor away from your face. • All you need is 2 sharpened pencils and your Mars® eraser. • NO TALKING PLEASE! GOOD LUCK!!
