  3. Myth Aries is the ram sent by Hermes to rescue prince Phrixus. The ram carried Phrixus to safety on the other side of the Black Sea. Aries was sacrificed and the Golden Fleece was given to the King. Aries is the source of the Golden Fleece.

  4. Facts about Aries Aries was probably the first zodiac when the constellation marked the position of the vernal equinox. Aries is also known as the ram.
