Create a critical mass of young teachers and researchers at collaborating institutions dedicated to developing integrated, livestock-based smallholder systems focused on sustainable use of renewable natural resources

Improve research and teaching facilities at the collaborating institutions

On average 36% of the students were female

Many of the 61 MSc graduates between 2003-2010 were/are registered as PhD students in Europe or in south east Asia

23 doctors graduated 2001-2011 at SLU (sandwich model, with research done at home institution)

9 PhD students are now registered at SLU (Dept. of Animal Nutrition and Management)

AND all of them will defend in 2012
