  5. Concept Check • Individually write down five examples of work and five examples of non-work. • After I tell you to share your examples with the group. • Then we will bring it up as a class.

  6. Calculating Work • Work as stated is a force through a distance. • W=Fxd • The units for work are the joule. • Nxm= J • Unit for all types of Energy

  7. Sample Problem • Imagine a father playing with his daughter by lifting her repeatedly in the air. How much work does he do with each lift, assuming he lifts her 2.0 m and exerts an average force of 190 N?
