Retail Market Design Service Update • ESB Networks SAP-ISU outage on 18th November 2007 • ARIS software upgrade 36
Retail Market Design Service Update ESB Networks SAP-ISU outage on Sunday 18th November 2007 • ESB Networks SAP-ISU and ESB Customer Supply SAP-ISU are separate applications with separate data stores running on separate processors but located within a single cabinet and sharing the power supply and other services • Unusually, this outage involved the common power supply (memory upgrade to ESBCS SAP) • A gap in the outage agreement procedure meant that ESBN did not agree to the outage prior to its announcement. • ESBN has taken this incident up with its IT service provider and clarified the market impact • A formal procedure has now been implemented to secure prior agreement by the ESBN designated SLA holder to all future planned outages 37
ARIS Upgrade • Successful upgrade of ARIS software last week • About to launch new web features • Improved Interface • Increased Model Information • Zooming and Full-Screen Mode • Printing to PDF • Simple Report • Online Help 38
Discussion Requests & Market Change Requests Susan Morrissey, RMDS 40
Market Change Request MCR 156 - Amending Generator Unit ID and Generation Unit ID • Circulated on 31/10/07 • No Feedback received • Approval Requested 41
Market Change Request MCR 158 – Changes to ARIS Data Definitions • MCR circulated on Thursday 22nd November • Approval requested 42
Discussion Request DR 0117 - Proposal to add Acceptance, Completion and Cancellation messages to Meter Works design • Feedback from one participant raised issues about the process for cancellation of Meter Works/De-energisations/Re-energisations • Further internal ESB Networks discussions ongoing • Valid ‘cancellation’ codes will be added to 131 message when the DR is re-circulated (Action Item 70) 43
Market Change Request MCR 0154 – Versioning of the 341 Propose to rename the MCR from ‘Versioning of the 341’ to ‘Versioning of the Meter Data on the 341 Market Message’ Question raised – How will the MCR handle version numbers for import and export data • Proposed Solutions for MCR 154 • Solution 1 Provide a separate Version Number at the MPRN level for Import and Export data and a read replacement flag at the Channel Level Details which would indicate the channel being updated. • Solution 2 Provide a Version Number at the channel level. This would mean that the Import QH kW, Import QH kVAr, Export QH kW and the QH Export kVAr would each have a version number. The Read Replacement Flag would no longer be required as the version would indicate the reading being replaced. Longer term raise a new DR to build a new message 342 for Export data only and use 341 for import data only. 44
Market Change Request DR 0113 Supplier of Last Resort Update • The Supplier of Last Resort Decision(SoLR)CER/07/171 has impacted the Market Design Process in the following ways: 45
Market Change Request DR 0113 Supplier of Last Resort Update • Issues still outstanding • The content of the CSV file to be issued to Suppliers and the SoLR. • How to handle MPRNs which are not currently practical to send in on an 010, for example, denergised sites, sites with meter works in progress etc, • The creation of a SoLR sub process to handle SoLR exceptions plus the interactions between ESB Networks and the SoLR along with issues such as disputed reads. 46
Prioritisation of MCRs/DRs for next schema release Top MCRs/DRs • DR 117 - Proposal to add Acceptance, Completion and Cancellation messages to Meter Works design • MCR 0063 - Addition of New Market Message for the Provision of Reconciliation Data • MCR 0127 - Decouple Connection Agreement requirement from Change of Supplier where MIC >=100kVA and there is no Change of Legal Entity 49
Next Steps • Proposed Diary dates for subsequent meetings • 10.01.08 (Note: there will be a TAG meeting afterwards with a designated start time, covering the MPCC strategy) • 21.02.2008 – to be confirmed • 03.04.2008 – to be confirmed 51
Next Steps • Propose to continue with conference call every two weeks – proposed dates - 13.12.2007 • 03.01.2008 – Proposed date (note: 27th December call cancelled!) • Call details have new contingency PIN No: • Number: 01-6647602 PIN : 77640 • Contingency number remains: 01-6647777 New PIN: 80490 52
