Advertising makes us buy things we don’t need

Advertising makes us feel inadequate by using images of successful people with perfect lives

Advertising enables independent television channels, radio stations, newspapers and magazines to exist (that’s where they get most of their money from)

Adverts for children’s products make it difficult for parents to say no to toys, sweets, games etc, and encourage kids to want unhealthy foods
