Other Days in 2008 Organizations Plan to Observe as Holidays by Closing Their Offices • Friday before Labor Day office closed • Lincoln's Birthday - closed • On the Friday before any holiday that creates a three-day weekend, the office closes at noon. • Accountants Holiday (CPA firm) April 16 • Monday, July 7 • One "Spring Break" day instead of Good Friday • Company Anniversary (April 5) • Rosh Hashana (1st day) & Yom Kippur closed • Rosh Hashanah (2 days), Yom Kippur (1 day), Passover (2 days) • Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur • Pioneer Day July 24th • Fiesta Friday (San Antonio TX) in April • The Friday of the Academic Spring Holiday - 3rd Friday in March • Election Day office closed • April 21 is Patriots Day (the office is closed not because it is Good Friday). This year we were given bonus holidays - December 26th and 31st. • Mardi Gras • Office is open only half days for November 26, December 24 and December 31. • 1 executive holiday to be used during the week before or between Christmas and New Years; 2 personal holidays 1-5 years; 3 days 5+ years • Floating Holiday chosen by Corporate (usually Christmas Eve or day after Christmas) • Election Days (May 13, Nov. 4 we are a government employer) • Pioneer Day - July 24 - State Holiday • Election Day - Tuesday, November 4 Victory Day - Monday, August 11th • 11 paid days off taken at employee's discretion as personal days -- office remains open for all "holidays" • April 21st, Patriot's Day (Massachusetts) • Catholic Holydays if they fall on a weekday. • San Jacinto Day, April 21 Emancipation Day, June 19 LBJ's Birthday, August 27 • Monday, December 1 (First Day of Hunting) • Nevada Day - last Friday in October • Good Thursday, and July 25 (Constitution of Puerto Rico)
