Title of your new instrument

In this presentation, I will share the key points and insights gained from my project of designing a new instrument for measuring target behaviors. I will discuss the critical aspects of the instrument's design, testing plan, and potential for technological advancements. Emphasis will be placed on the need for further testing and improvement, as well as the potential impact of the instrument in the field.

  2. Take away • In these bullets • Add the most critical key points • That everyone should learn

  3. (Add descriptive title) • In a well-organized way, summarize the key points of what you learned doing the project

  4. (Add descriptive title) • You have 18 slides to do this and can follow whatever format you want.

  5. (Add descriptive title) • Do not put too much text on any given slide • You only have 20s per slide!

  6. (Add descriptive title) • Images are strongly preferred to text when they can be used to illustrate a concept • But, avoid gratuitous clip art

  7. (Add descriptive title) • Do not put text or images on the slide that people will not have time to read

  8. (Add descriptive title) • When you present, you will stand near the screen • These slides will advance automatically after 20s, no matter what(Don’t change the timing on any slides as you edit)

  9. (Add descriptive title) • If you do not practice • And practice • And practice • At least 3 times, you will get behind your slides and it will be painful to watch

  10. (Add descriptive title) • More here…

  11. (Add descriptive title) • If you need to explain a complex idea, you will need to step the audience through understanding it (20s at a time)

  12. (Add descriptive title) • More here

  13. (Add descriptive title) • Focus on why you have designed the instrument the way you have and where you see the need for testing and/or improvement

  14. (Add descriptive title) • Be sure to explain your testing plan (and the scientific motivation behind it) as best as you can • Cite reference materials where possible

  15. (Add descriptive title) • You could talk about what you think it would take to make your new instrument the dominant way to measure your target behavior(s)

  16. (Add descriptive title) • Structure the slides as you see fit

  17. (Add descriptive title) • Make sure you are thinking about advanced technology that could play a role!

  18. (Add descriptive title) • You can speculate about how to use technology but also be realistic about what is possible or not

  19. Take away • In these bullets • Reemphasize the most important take-away messages • That everyone should learn

  20. Discussion questions • Pose one provocative question to start off a discussion • Post another provocative question to start off a discussion
