An essay is generally a short piece of writing written from an author's personal point of view There are many different types of essays; we will be learning how to write apersuasive essay Persuasive writing is known as creative writing or an argument, is a piece of writing in which the writer uses words to convince the reader that the writer's opinion is correct with regard to an issue. What is an essay?

  3. There are steps to writing an essay

We must think of a topic or an issue that we want to argue or persuade our reader into believing Then, we can brainstorm the idea to help us come up with ideas that we can use in our essay to make our point of view strong Create a web or a T-chart to organize your ideas Before we begin the writing process

  5. After we have gone through the brainstorming stage of essay writing and we have some ideas of what you want to write about in your essay, we can begin thinking about a thesis statement Introduction paragraph: writing a thesis

  6. A thesis statement appears near the beginning of a paper, and it offers a solution to the issue being addressed. It states the claim of the argument presented in a paper. A thesis statement is usually one sentence. It’s the sentence that tells your audience what your essay will be about. What is a thesis statement?

This story is about the effort of one child, who makes the right choices and shares his good fortune and shows how an entire community can more from poverty to self-sufficiency Empowers children to realize the need for self-sufficiency and more importantly giving back to the community. Going over the story

  8. Sense of community and how it has a chain of events How its important that we hear about these stories (to help make a change: give a loan to a poor person to help them build their own business) this helps them to become self sufficient Deciding on a topic from the story

  9. It is important to help entrepreneurs like Kojo in the story? (yes/no) Should we give back after we are successful financially to help others become successful also? Should we be allowed to keep our money without sharing it because you worked hard for it and deserve it; let the other guy work hard for his own money like you did. My ideas for an essay topic

  10. How to write an essay: We are persuading someone about an idea Collect our ideas to create a strong thesis What is our learning goal?
