  1. Weather Instruments Weather Instruments are used to measure the weather such as wind speed, temperature, air pressure, moisture content and rain fall.

  2. Anemometer Anemometer is used to measure the wind speed in a particular place which is a common weather instrument.

  3. Wind Vane Wind vane is used to measure where the wind is going to. When the beak is pointing to a place meaning the wind is going that way.

  4. Sunshine Recorder A sunshine recorder is a device that records the sunshine at a given location.

  5. Rain Gauge It measures and gathers the liquid precipitation over a set period of time.

  6. Thermometer Thermometer is used to measure the temperature in a particular place. It measures by Degrees Celsius and Degrees Fahrenheit.

  7. Hygrometer The hygrometer is a device for measuring the humidity of air The air has moisture in it evaporated from plants, lakes and oceans.

  8. Barometer The Barometer is used to measure the air pressure. Air pressure changes to rain, stormy, fair and very dry.

  9. Why do we need weather forecast? • Weather forecast depends on the activities that we do each day. • We are interested in the weather forecast to make our plans during the day or the next day.

  10. People who depend and not depend on weather reports. • People who depends on weather reports. Pilot, farmers, fishermen, tourists, mountain climbers, astronauts and sailors depend on weather forecast to know if a bad weather is coming. • People who don’t depend on weather reports. Business men, business women, teachers and students don’t depend on weather forecast because a car has a cover and a school/office has a cover too.

  11. Where does the weather forecast come from? Weather Information comes from the weather station which has the weather instruments which metreologists use to predict the weather.
