Established in 1976 with the following major responsibilities:

Overseas Employment and Remittance • Bangladeshi expatriates contribute 6% in out GDP through sending remittance. • From 1976up to February 2019, 1,23,08,731 migrants has been employed overseas in 168 countries of the world. • Total remittance from 1976 to February 2019 is 1,94,710 Million USD.

  7. OBJECTIVE OF SEIP PROJECT • Improve job focused skills • Impart skill training linked to employment • Develop a network of training providers • Implement a vocational trainer development program for trainers and assessors.

  8. Opportunities : • 61 TTCs are linked with SEIP • Development of Training facility. • Introducing CBT certification system. • Trainees are provided 100 tk for per attendance. • Free guidebook. • Free driving license.

  9. SEIP deals with the following four key programs: • Short Term Market Responsive Inclusive Training Programs • Motor Driving with Basic Maintenance Course • City & Guilds Program • Modernization of 3 TTCs having joint cooperation of SEIP and KOICA

  14. “Motor Driving with Basic Maintenance” Course • MoU was signed between BMET and SEIP on 26th December 2017 • Our goal is to create 1 Lac skilled driver within next five years and provide them free driving license • After completing the course, trainees can enter into local or overseas job market. • As per huge demand of skilled drivers in migrant receiving countries, our ultimate goal is also to place them in overseas job market.

  15. The training includes • 4 Months Duration (360 Hours) • Enough facility of sufficient practice for every learner. • Basic knowledge about maintenance and servicing of motor car. • Language training (English & Arabic)

Eligibility of Learner • Any male or female aged between 20 to 35 years who are interested to take driving as a profession can take admission. • Education qualification is At least class 8 or JSC pass. • Learner must have NID (National Identity) Card. • Priority for poor, female and underprivileged persons. • Physically fit and non-colour blind (Learner must submit physical fitness certificate given by Civil Surgeon)

  18. Motor Driving with Basic Maintenance Course is being operated in 61 TTCs. The following 20 TTCs operates the course from January/2018

City & Guilds • First MoU was signed among BMET, SEIP and City & Guilds on 14 August 2017. • Revised MoU was signed among BMET, SEIP and City & Guilds on 05 March 2018. • Our goal is to create 2700 skilled trainees. • After the successful completion of the course, trainees will be awarded internationally recognized certificate and can enter into local or overseas job market. • The certificate is recognized by 80 countries including UK, Australia, Canada and Middle East.

  22. Eligibility of Trainee • Trainee will be youth, adult with age between 20-35. • Minimum entry level educational qualification will be class VIII/ JSC/ equivalent passed. • Trainee must have to submit NID if the age is 20 and above. • Preference will be given to women, poor, indigenous group and people from disadvantaged group to enroll in the training program. • Each Trainee will receive daily conveyance allowance BDT 100/- per training day on the basis of attendance.

  25. Modernization of 3 TTCs Jointly with KOICA • Name of the TTCs: • 1. Bangladesh-German Technical Training Center, Dhaka. • Sylhet Technical Training Center, Sylhet. • Khulna Technical Training Center, Sylhet.

  26. Progression: • 1. MoU has been signed among KOICA, SEIP and BMET. • Preliminary feasibility test in 3 TTCs has been accomplished through KOICA according to the MoU and necessary steps have been initiated in accordance with the recommendation of the test. • The stability test of the the building of Bangladesh-German TTC has been completed by Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. • Record of Discussion (RD) has been prepared by KOICA • Prepared RD has been sent to Economic Relations Division for approval.
