    5. 6/10/2012 5 Overview of Client-Server Model of E-mail System Server = computer & software that collects and transmits EVERYONE’s email msgs Client = computer & software that reads the INDIVIDUAL USER’s email msgs In our system, Pericles is the server, and Pegasus is a client email application The email initially resides on Pericles, and Pegasus downloads it to the local client computer. (NOTE: this is a default that we can change)
