Education exports to China • 18 HEIs have a presence in the market; 6 universities, 8 IoTs, 3 Private Colleges, 1 other • 2 joint colleges and 63 joint programs between Ireland and China, Over 150 MOU have been signed between Irish and Chinese institutions. • Of the 3,300 Chinese students in Ireland 50% come through TNE programmes, 30% come from agents and 20% are ‘free movers’ • Study visa application has increase of 64% compared with 2014. Education is the second largest export to china after food.
