  4. 2001. • Taking part on Twining Program concerning EURODAC in Budapest • 2002 - 2003. • Taking part on EURODAC seminars in Brussels • 2003. • Creation of National Action Plan concerning our participation in EURODAC Hungarian Ministry of Interrior

Action list • Implementation of the EURODAC related new functions in the national AFIS by SAGEM • Implementation of the connection to TESTA Network used for EURODAC data transmission • Training of ten-print operators • Training of employees of the Immigration Office • Informing The Police about the tasks related to EURODAC Hungarian Ministry of Interrior

  6. Problems • The main problem at the start was: setting up the secure connection between the Dactiloscopy Department and the EURODAC Central Unit. It was slower than expected, because of the complex technical task (connection throught the Hungarian Governmental Backbone Network, operated by the eGov Center of Prime Minister’s Office). • Since 1 May 2004 the connection was interrupted twice. • Minor additional problems: • Installation of the new antivirus system was not smooth. • A short power cut at the eGov Center of Prime Minister’s Office • Somethimes poor quality of fingerprints and/or improper orientation of fingers on it. Daily work • Registration of the fingerprint cards coming from the Immigration Office • Control of quality and right orientation of fingerprints • Bad quality fingerprint cards are sent back to the Immigration Office for repeating • Good quality fingerprint cards with right orientation of fingerprints are sent to the National AFIS and to the Eurodac CU • Verification of candidate lists coming back • Sending of results of verification to the Immigration Office Hungarian Ministry of Interrior

  8. Future tasks • The most important task – systematic training for the employees of the Immigration Officein order to have BETTER QUALITY fingerprint cards • Firsthand (direct) computerised connection between the Hungarian EURODAC team and DubliNET team. Hungarian Ministry of Interrior

Border registration system • Annualy 100 million person cross the borders in average. • The data of all persons from third countries are stored for 90 in the system, the data are automatically deleted afterwards. Each year about 18 million persons are recorded in the system. Hungarian Ministry of Interrior

Alien Policing authority data base (from November 2005) • Contains data of all persons under processes, and all of the document images in electronic form • Authorized person can (with the strict enforcement of data protection prescriptions) view any file. • Statistical queries (acts committed, nationality, sex, age) • Summary of applied methods • Determination of main routes Hungarian Ministry of Interrior

AFIS-II system(Automated Fingerprint Identification System) Authorities in the system: Eurodac National Unit Immigration and Naturalization Office 7 personal identification stations (digital read and transfer and 10 finger print pictures) 7 print record stations (for record of digitalized 10 finger prints) Border Guards • 95 (+28) personal identification stations (digital read and transfer of 2 finger print pictures, reception and visualization of answer) • 46 (+13) mobile personal identification stations • 6 print record stations (for record of digitalized 10 finger prints) • Receives 10 fingerprint sheet entry stations in the present tender (for digitalization and transfer of fingerprint sheets taken by traditional method) Hungarian Ministry of Interrior
