  1. Volunteer Work By: Dylan Graves

Description of Work • In May of 2012, my class went to Memphis for a few days to volunteer in the community by helping a local inner city church with tasks that needed to be done • My group specifically worked towards tearing down an old and dilapidated behind the church in order to make room for something else. This task, which would’ve normally taken weeks for the very limited staff they had, took us about three days to accomplish.

  6. These two pictures show us clearing rubble from the house that had completely taken down.

  7. Conclusion • Once the house had been taken down, we cleared the rubble and debris into a large dumpster, leaving only the foundation for the church to decide what to do from there on. • Overall, this time was an incredible experience and opportunity to see the appreciation that the people showed for us coming and giving our time and energy for them.
