Collaborative Unit • Mission: Collaborate with MUSC investigators in developing competitive grant applications. • Selecting appropriate study designs • Estimating sample size and power • Determining appropriate data analysis plans • Preparing/reviewing relevant sections of grant proposals • Over the past three years, the CU has provided over 8,700 hours helping to develop grants for investigators throughout MUSC.

  3. Role within the CTSA • The Collaborative Unit now exists in parallel with the Design, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Clinical Research Ethics Program within the recently funded South Carolina Clinical & Translational Research (SCTR) Institute. • Any MUSC investigator can request our services from: sctr.musc.edu

  4. Collaborative Unit Activities • Assist in the development and review of all CTRC protocols • Assist in the development and review of SCTR pilot projects, internal K-awards • Help with grant development
