  1. What is a CRNA? Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist or CRNAs are registered nurses with advanced educational credentials and considerable clinical training. These nurse anesthetists play important roles in the success of different medical procedures. CRNAs work side by side with surgeons, anesthesiologist, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care in almost every healthcare setting. They’re responsible for providing pain management, assisting with stabilization services, and also overseeing patient recovery. THE CRNA WEEK! This one-week event was established in 2000 by the AANA (American Association of Nurses Anesthetics). This is an annual event that celebrates the more than 52,000 CRNAs and student registered nurse anesthetists who safely provide approximately 43 million anesthetics each year. The National CRNA Week is celebrated the last full week of January, making 2018 the 19th celebration with the theme: “Every BREATH, Every BEAT, Every SECOND, WE ARE THERE.” TIVA AND CRNAs.
