Bonus: a metaphor you heard (or thought about) since last week that you noticed and thought about how it functioned; briefly describe the context in which it was used

  4. Paraphrasing • Explain? • How is it different than summary? • When do you use paraphrase? • Bad paraphrases are ____________? • Issues of plagiarism • Favorite quote exercise • Also class quote exercise

  5. Let’s go to the articles… • Which article have you chosen? • Break into groups of three, must be with others who have chosen same article as you • As a group, discuss article, emphasizing audience, purpose, then summarize it • As individuals, paraphrase first sentence, some body paragraph sentence, and last sentence
