  10. State of the System – The Harsh Reality We are committed to a safe, reliable and prosperous transportation future… BUT…without a solution, we will not be able to accomplish what Missourians have come to expect from our state.

  12. Amendment 7 This August Missourians will have the opportunity to choose the path of our transportation system.

Constitutional Amendment 7 What’s In The Measure? • Temporary ¾-cent sales tax for ten years • No state fuel tax increase; no toll roads. • No new tax on groceries or prescription drugs • Est. $5.4 billionover 10 years for transportation • 10% to locals (5% Cities and 5% Counties) • Money spent on locally developed projects • Accountability to Missourians.

Draft Project List Development Moving Forward – Interstate 70 • $500 million off the top for I-70 • Expand I-70 to six lanes across state, from Independence to Wentzville. • Missouri’s “Main Street,” connecting our two largest cities and serving as the state’s economic engine. • Home to almost one-fourth of all Missouri jobs

Draft Project List Development Moving Forward – Interstate 70 • Generates nearly $90 billion in economic activity each year. • Carries more than 10,000 trucks per day –projected to double by 2030. • Designed to carry 12,000-18,000 vehicles per day, it now carries anywhere from 20,000 to more than 100,000 vehicles per day.

July 9, 2014Final project list and comments received will be submitted to the MHTC for consideration and approval. August 5, 2014 - Election Day
