Code of Practice

This code of practice outlines the history and regulations surrounding backflow prevention in New Zealand. It covers the legal requirements for boundary protection of drinking water supplies, including the use of internal protection and the implementation of safety plans. The code also includes guidelines for risk assessment, device registration, and specific customer responsibilities. The code is administered by the Ministry of Health through water assessors employed by local district health boards.
